Performed For a Packed House on June 25th @ The Boulton Center in Bayshore, New York

Last night I had the privilege of performing for a packed house of about 250 country music fans right here in my hometown of Long Island, at The Boulton Center for the Performing Arts in Bayshore, New York.

What a magical night! Long Island-based comedienne Tina Giorgi opened for me and she did a fabulous job warming up the audience. Tina’s set lasted about 40 minutes and she had the crowd (including me, backstage) roaring with laughter.

My band was great, as always. Their musicianship is second to none. I am blessed to have such talented people around me. We had people dancing in the aisles during the concert. When I started to sing the first few chords of my single, “Me Time,” people started clapping, and some people in the audience were singing out loud with the song. So surreal!

When I got a standing ovation at the end of the night I was humbled, and I cannot remember the last time I felt as exhilarated as I did at this Boulton Center performance. Moments like that truly do not come very often in life, and I appreciate all of my fans.

Before the show ended I said to the crowd, “I’d love to be able to speak to each of you personally, and to thank you for your support.” About 100 people stayed after the show and shook my hand, and I signed autographs. Two little girls had my t-shirt on and asked me to sign them. What’s so amazing is that my growing fan-base consists of both men and women, and people of all ages. I have fans who are 10 and fans who are 70! I think that’s the power of country music; it doesn’t exclude anyone.

Most importantly, the Breathe Believe Foundation was there as well, and their founder, Angela Ruggeri, got up and said a few words about Cystic Fibrosis research. A portion of the proceeds from my Boulton Center concert went to the Breathe Believe Foundation.

Just Performed LIVE On-air @ Fox 5 News in New York

Just performed LIVE on the air on Fox 5 News in New York! I was introduced by Fox 5 News reporter Lauren Green as “Long Island’s First Country Recording Artist.” What began as an interview about my music career quickly became a request for a live in-studio acoustic performance. I performed two songs from the Me Time EP (the title track, Me Time, and “Wouldn’t You Like To Know”), accompanied by the talented musician, Colin Smith.

After my segment was finished I gave Lauren a “Me Time” T-shirt, which she loved :). Thank you to Fox 5 News and to Fox News reporter, Lauren Green, for a great interview and segment!

Have a look at mine and Colin’s impromptu live performance on Fox 5 News in New York:

My Single “Me Time” Gets Added Into Rotation at Eight Radio Stations, and Counting…

I just found out today, according to my radio promoter @ Nine North Records, that I was the second most added independent female recording artist on the country charts yesterday! How about that?

From what I was told by my amazing Nine North rep, Larry Pareigis, “What makes this achievement notable is that the #1 most added independent female recording artist yesterday is actually on her 9th single.” “Me Time” is my 1st single off of my newly released EP, Me Time, so we are making some great strides!

I’m very fortunate to have “Me Time” added into the rotation in some really great country markets. We’re off to a great start, and thank you to my incredible team at Nine North Records, headed up by Larry Pareigis.

As of, Monday, June 13, 2011, the following country radio stations have reported adding my single, “Me Time,” into their airplay rotation:

WJVC Long Island, NY WIWF Charleston, NC WKSF Asheville, NC WRSF Nag’s Head, NC WWGY Youngstown, OH WHXK Bluefield, WV WXXK, Lebanon, NH KEAN Abilene, TX

Blast Magazine Calls Me “Long Island’s Country Star”

Country star Lisa Matassa featured in Blast Magazine

Blast Magazine just posted an interview with me, entitled, “Long Island’s Country Star.”

The article was written by a very sweet and talented young journalist named Brittney McNamara. Brittney called me from Blast Magazine’s Boston office for a chat about my life as a wife, mom of two teenagers, and a busy country recording artist who is currently on tour to promote my album, Me Time (Whew! I’m tired just reading that last sentence. :)).

I spoke to Blast Magazine’s Brittney McNamara about my earlier recording career with Emergency Records, as Lysa Lynn, and why I am so much happier now that I am recording and performing the kind of music that I am truly passionate about; my own special brand of country and rock n’ roll music that I call ‘Long Island Country’!

We also spoke about my love for Nashville (my new second home), my family and what’s been happening since I started promoting the album Me Time. Thanks Brittney for a wonderful interview. READ MY INTERVIEW WITH BLAST MAGAZINE

My First Skype Interview on KBFX Fox News in Bakersfield, CA

I just gave my very first skype interview to KBFX’s Eyewitness News on the Fox affiliate in Bakersfield, California. Although this television appearance was on the west coast, I got to explain “Long Island Country” music, and I talked about the growing excitement surrounding the release of Me Time.

They even aired a clip from my music video for the song “I Don’t Feel Anything.” KBFX-TV in Bakersfield then held a contest giving away one of my CDs to the 58th lucky viewer who called in to the station!

On The 1st Leg Of My Radio Promotional Tour for “Me Time”

My schedule has been jam packed these last few weeks as we prep for the national release of my EP, “Me Time” (the national release date for “Me Time” is June 13!!) I just got back from a promotional radio tour in the northeast, hitting 4 states in 2 days with lots of fun and exciting radio interviews. In between the radio touring I’ve been back in the studio recording more songs for my upcoming LP album. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the new song, “Somebody’s Baby,” a song with lyrics that are very personal to me; I just love the story that this song tells: no matter where you are in the world or what is happening to you, remember that you are somebody’s baby – as a mother it’s very meaningful :).

In between recording more music, my northeast radio tour to promote Me Time, and being a busy mom, I’ve been doing radio and television interviews with media outlets on the west coast via skype. Did I mention that I’ve been busy?!! But it’s worth it, as I feel blessed that my family is behind me, helping to make this dream of mine come true. I love you Frank, Alexa and Frankie

I want to give a shout out to the radio stations I visited on the northeast leg of my promotional radio tour:

To Steve at WRWD in Poughkeepsie, New York; Shelley, Dave & Jimmy at WCTY in Norwich, Connecticut; Wild Bill at WOKO in Burlington, Vermont; and to Justin & Amy of KIXX in Lebanon, New Hampshire… thank you guys so much for your love and support, and for playing my single, “Me Time!”
