On June 14, Long Island country sensation Lisa Matassa chatted via phone about her upcoming concert in Farmingville, New York, that will take place on July 3, at the Brookhaven Amphitheater, as part of Freedomfest.
"I am excited to be performing at Freedomfest," she exclaimed. "Some of the biggest artists in country music are going to be on that bill with me. These singers include Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann, Jana Kramer and Dustin Lynch. I am so honored to be a part of this caliber of talent. It really is a dream come true for me."
"I love connecting with the listeners and country music fans are the greatest fans in the world. They are so loyal and very real people. As a mother from Long Island, I feel fortunate that the fans have embraced me. I am so blessed for all of the positive things that have happened to me over the last few years," the Long Island vocalist said.
According to Lisa, "In last year's Freedomfest, I was able to sing the national anthem and to be on that stage afforded me the opportunity to meet so many of the men and the women that are in the Armed Forces. I feel very honored to at least give back in this capacity as much as I can."
"I'm sure everybody on Long Island appreciates what these men and women have done for us. I feel that this year's show is going to be even bigger than last year's," she added.
Lisa noted that her setlist will include such songs as "Sunrise Highway," "Me Time," "Wouldn't You Like to Know," as well as "Somebody's Baby," which is her next radio single.
